Is a community based art school whose mandate is to introduce adults, teens and children to the enriching world of art in a positive, creative and healthy environment. Adult Programmes offer a variety of art lessons for novices, as well as the more experienced in a supportive and structured environment. Adult Programmes in the summer offer flexibility for doubling up classes if you plan to go on the much needed vacation. Teen Programmes focus on developing technique and encouraging confidence with the medium of choice. Several of our programs focus on portfolio preparation for high school, college and university, ages 11-18. Children's Programmes provide art instruction for children aged 2.5-13 years with special emphasis on the development of visual awareness, elements of art and design, personal expression, confidence in problem solving, improved self-esteem, proper art vocabulary, art history, comfort with materials, technique building and enhancing the Imagination. March Break and Summer Camps have both half day and full day programs available, as well as engaging Before Care, Lunch care and After Care programming. Since 1996, Art Works Art School has evolved and expanded its services to facilitate students of all ages, offering some of the finest and most varied art programs in the city. Our new home and location has allowed us to create many exciting possibilities for our students such as exhibition opportunities in Art Works Art Gallery, access to the Frank Hoff Art Library for research purposes, and proposals for artist-in-residence independent studio development. Volunteer opportunities are encouraged and available to high school, university and college students through our ongoing Mentoring Program. Art Works Art School extends its support to post-secondary art and design students at OCAD University by awarding two $1000 awards to 3rd year students. Services to our community include events hosting, open houses, family days, workshops, and we sell retail art supplies and instruction books to the public. Through our Outreach Program, Art Works Art School expands its teaching capabilities to include both the public and private school communities by offering structured, integrated and diverse on-site art classes and workshops. All of our educators are fully qualified professionals with extensive experience and knowledge in their chosen discipline. Art Works Art School recently partnered with the Ontario Student Awards Foundation, a fully charitable not-for-profit foundation, in an effort to make our programs accessible to a broader community. Please refer to our Sponsor a Student page on the side bar of our website.
We look forward to many more successful years of service in our community through our dedication and commitment to excellence and growth

Our prices are competitive and we are convenient. You can make great art with a minimal amount of supplies, but we feel it is important to have good quality. All of our materials have been tested by teachers, and are used in our classes. We also carry items for loot bags, gifts and portfolio sketchbooks for teens.
The Frank Hoff art Library
In May of 2008 over one hundred art books in mint condition and of immeasurable value were very generously donated to Art Works Art School by Frank Hoff, a past Art Works student, thus establishing the Frank Hoff Art Library. If you would like to add to our on-going collection of excellent art history and instruction manuals, we welcome your donations. Please call our office at 416-766-0662. On behalf of all of the staff and students at Art Works Art School, a heart felt thanks and note of appreciation to Frank Hoff for his very thoughtful and kind contribution to the Art Works community.
