Summer art camp at Art Works Art School offers an array of new and exciting programs for kids every week!

Camp begins at 9:00 am - 4:00 pm each day of the week. Extended care is offered from 4:00 - 5:00 pm for an additional $15+tax/day

Students must bring their own healthy nut-free lunch, 2-4 snacks, appropriate outdoor gear, and a water bottle. Campers will need to apply their own sunscreen. A typical day at Art Works for campers is as follows: 8:30-9:00 am drop, art projects begin at 9:00 am, snack, art project, finishing up / cleaning up, and pick-up.

Note: Registration for summer camp is FINAL, no refunds unless the spot can be filled by someone waitlisted.

Summer Art Camp 2024

Week 1: (4 Days) July 2 - 5, 2024

• Ages 4 - 6 - Instructor: Dylon Feyen

• Nature’s Canvas

  In this eco-friendly art camp, campers will explore the wonders of the natural world by using recycled materials, found objects, and organic materials to create beautiful artworks. From leaf rubbings to rock paintings, each project will inspire young artists to see the beauty in the world around them while learning about sustainability and conservation.

• Ages 7 - 11 - Instructor: Anita Fowl

• Our Earth
  Embark on a global artistic journey as we explore the rich diversity of our planet! Campers will draw inspiration from different countries, cultures, and landscapes to create unique artworks inspired by their favorite places around the world. From Egyptian pyramids to Canadian Cityscape to Japanese cherry blossoms, each art piece will reflect the beauty and diversity of our Earth's natural and cultural heritage.

• All Around Art
  Dive into a world of artistic exploration! From drawing and painting to portraiture and landscape art, campers will have the opportunity to try their hand at a variety of artistic techniques and mediums.

Week 2: July 8 - 12, 2024

• Enchanted Fairytales
  Step into a world of magic and wonder in our Enchanted Fairytales Art Camp! Artists will be inspired by fairies, monsters, and magical creatures as they create whimsical artworks using a variety of materials. From crafting fairy wings to painting friendly monsters, this camp sparks imagination and creativity in our little artists.

• Fantasy Quests
  Embark on an epic adventure in our Fantasy Quests Art Camp! Campers will draw inspiration from their favourite cosplay characters, video games, and more as they journey through the realms of fantasy. From designing heroic costumes to crafting enchanted artifacts, this camp invites young adventurers to bring their imagination to life on canvas.

• Wizarding World
  Enter the magical realm of witches, warlocks, and flying dragons in our Wizarding World Art Camp! Inspired by the enchanting world of Harry Potter, young artists will create spellbinding artworks featuring their favourite magical creatures and characters. From painting mystical landscapes to crafting wizard wands, this camp is sure to cast a spell on aspiring wizards and witches.

Week 3: July 15 - 19, 2023

• Amazing Animals and Creatures
  Let your creativity run wild! Artists will use various supplies to create new creatures or draw and paint their beloved pets and favourite animals. From fuzzy kittens to fierce lions, campers will unleash their artistic talents in this fun and furry camp.

• Changing Cartoons
  Get ready to put a creative spin on your favorite cartoons! From drawing original characters to giving popular cartoons a playful twist, campers will explore the exciting world of cartoon creation. Whether it's Sponge Bob Tentacle Pants or Joker in a Batman costume, this camp is a cartoon lover's dream come true.

• Fruity Fruits
  Explore the vibrant world of still life in our Fruity Fruits Art Camp! Campers will learn to draw and paint delicious fruits with a focus on colour, texture, and composition. From juicy oranges to plump grapes, this camp offers a feast for the eyes and the imagination.

Week 4: July 22 - 26, 2024

• Blast-Off into Art
  Blast off into outer space! Young astronauts will embark on a cosmic adventure as they create out-of-this-world artworks inspired by the wonders of the universe. From drawing alien landscapes to crafting rocket ships, this camp is sure to spark imagination and curiosity.

• Marvel-ous Heros
  Unleash your inner superhero in our Marvel Heroes Art Camp! Campers will dive into the action-packed world of Marvel comics and movies as they create dynamic artworks featuring their favourite heroes and villains. • Gamer’s Galaxy
  Level up your artistic skills in our Gamers Galaxy Art Camp! Inspired by popular video games such as Super Mario and Zelda and virtual worlds, young gamers will create epic artworks that bring their favorite gaming adventures to life. From designing original characters to crafting immersive landscapes, this camp is a pixel-perfect paradise for gaming enthusiasts.

Week 5: July 29 - August 2, 2024

• Barbies-Dream House
  Campers will embark on a creative adventure inspired by the iconic Barbie-dolls, exploring themes of fashion, friendship, and imagination. Artists will design their own Barbie-inspired masterpieces, from glamorous outfits to dreamy landscapes. With a blend of drawing, painting, and crafting, this camp promises to spark joy and creativity in every participant.

• Doll Making
  Bring your imagination to life! Campers will learn the art of doll making as they create unique and personalized dolls from scratch. From designing clothing to crafting accessories, this camp offers endless opportunities for creative expression using felt, wood, and many other supplies.

• Ages 10 - 13 - Instructor: Joana Gomes

• In My Art Era
  Channel your inner pop star in our Taylor Swift Inspired Art Camp! Inspired by her music and artistry of Taylor Swift, artists will create artworks that capture the spirit of their favourite songs and albums. From painting album covers to designing friendship bracelets, and much more this camp is a celebration of creativity and self-expression.

Week 6: (4 Days) August 6 - 9, 2024

• For the Bluey Lovers
  Join Bluey and her family for artistic adventures in our Bluey Cartoon Art Camp! Inspired by the beloved children's cartoon, young artists will create artworks featuring Bluey, Bingo, and their friends. From drawing playful scenes to crafting colorful characters, this camp is a wagging good time for Bluey fans.

• Ages 7 - 11 - Instructor: Anita Fowl

• Pop Art Mash-up
  Pop into the vibrant world of Pop Art! Campers will explore the bold colours and iconic imagery of the Pop Art movement as they create artworks inspired by popular culture. From drawing comic book heroes to painting everyday objects, this camp offers a fresh and fun take on modern art.

• Ages 12 - 15 - Instructor: Sophia Chavez

• Junior Sketchbook Development
  This camp focuses on developing essential drawing skills and techniques through sketchbook exploration. From doodling in pen and ink to experimenting with mixed media, campers will learn to express themselves artistically while building their own personal sketchbook.

Week 7: August 12 - 16, 2024

• Little Artists BIG Artists
  Discover the world of art through the eyes of great masters in our Little Artists Big Artists Art Camp! Artists will learn about famous artists and their iconic artworks while creating their own masterpieces inspired by their styles and techniques. From painting like Picasso to sculpting like Michelangelo.

• Ages 7 - 9 - Instructor: Anita Fowl

• Portraits and Landscapes Galore
  Capture the beauty of the world around you! Campers will learn the fundamentals of portraiture and landscape drawing as they create realistic artworks inspired by nature and people. From sketching outdoor scenes to drawing self-portraits, this camp offers a comprehensive introduction to drawing from life.

• Putting It Into Perspective
  Gain a new perspective on art in our Perspective Art Camp! Campers will learn the principles of perspective drawing and how to create the illusion of depth and space in their artworks. This camp offers a fresh and exciting approach to drawing and composition.

Week 8: August 19 - 23, 2024

  Join us for an exciting adventure into the colourful world of art! In our Art Lovers Art Camp, artists will explore a variety of artistic techniques and materials while creating imaginative masterpieces. • Impressionism vs Expressionism
  Discover the fascinating world of art movements. Campers will delve into the styles of Impressionism and Expressionism, learning about the key characteristics and differences between the two. • Surrealism
  Journey into the dreamlike realm of Surrealism! Artists will explore the imaginative and often bizarre world of Surrealist art, creating whimsical and otherworldly artworks inspired by their own dreams and fantasies. From surreal landscapes to fantastical creatures, this camp encourages creativity and exploration.

  Dive into the lives and works of iconic artists in our Comparing Artists Art Camp!
